The Statewide HIV Activity
Reporting and Evaluation System (SHARE) is a web-based data collection and reporting
tool, that automates the creation of intervention plans. It allows agencies to track
actual worker data against a designed intervention plan. The system also provides
the ability to demonstrate the effectiveness of prevention program planning, education
services, and intervention services. Additionally it effectively addresses the needs
of populations most at-risk and, consequently, reduces the transmission of HIV infection.
The SHARE system possesses
a very high degree of security, since it contains confidential data about HIV infection.
The system provides secure access for various users, such as service providers, regional
administrators and state headquarters personnel. Typical users of the SHARE system
are Departments of Health, local health jurisdictions and community based organizations.
The system consists of a combination of browser-enabled screens to provide a web-based
tool for creating and tracking intervention and education plans and activities and
client/server screens for back-end maintenance of utility tables.
The technologies used
to create SHARE are SQL7, IIS, PowerBuilder, VB Script, Java, Java Script, HTML, and
ASP.
